DETAILS:

Sergeant Noel Ramirez and Deputy Sheriff Taylor Lindsey were shot and killed from ambush as they took their lunch break in a restaurant at 1122 East Wade Street, in Trenton.

At approximately 3:00 pm a male subject opened fire on them from outside of the establishment, fatally shooting both through the restaurant's front window. The man was located deceased near the scene by responding deputies.

Sergeant Ramirez had served with the Gilchrist County Sheriff's Office for seven years. He is survived by his wife and two children.

Shortly after responding to numerous calls on the evening of Monday, April 16, 2018, Firefighter-Paramedic M. Kent Stillwagon was found just after midnight at his residence in cardiac arrest. His fellow volunteers and friends from the Greenlawn Fire Department responded and tried valiantly to resuscitate him, but after being transported to Huntington hospital and an extended resuscitation attempt by hospital staff, Firefighter-Paramedic Stillwagon passed away.

DETAILS:

Dennis "Denny" Barnes was a member of the Campbelltown Volunteer Fire Company in Lebanon Co, Pa for 30 years. As well as serving as fire police for many of those years, he was also a dedicated handyman around the firehall, making the grounds beautiful by mowing the lawns and planting flowers. He was also most recently Captain of the CVFC fire police, and was a friend and mentor of many past and present volunteers of the company. Denny could always be depended upon to get things done, and his wit and can-do attitude will be greatly missed. God speed, brother.

DETAILS:

K9 Bane was killed while attempting an apprehension following a vehicle pursuit of a stolen vehicle.

A male and female had led officers on a 30-minute pursuit after carjacking a vehicle. The pursuit ended after the vehicle struck stop sticks in the area of 27th Avenue and Bethany Home Road. Both subjects fled the scene. The female was immediately apprehended while the subject fled on foot. A SWAT team located the subject hiding in the attic of a nearby home and K9 Bane was released for an apprehension but was killed during the apprehension. The exact cause of death is not yet determined.

K9 Bane had served with the Phoenix Police Department for two years.
