Police Officer Logan K. Medlock

Police Officer Logan Medlock was killed when his patrol car was struck by a drunk driver at the intersection of KY 229 and South Main Street at 12:50 am. Officer Medlock was driving in southbound on South Main Street when the pickup truck ran a stop light and struck the patrol car, pushing it into the adjacent cemetery. Officer Medlock succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The driver was arrested and charged with the murder of a police officer and driving under the influence. Officer Medlock had served with the London Police Department for three years and had previously served with the Laurel County Correctional Center for one year. He is survived by his wife and son.

On Sunday, Oct. 30, 2022, Firefighter Alex Moss responded to the fire station for a residential fire alarm call. He remained at the station and complained to his fellow firefighters that he wasn’t feeling well and went home. In the early afternoon, his wife found him deceased in bed from an apparent heart attack.

A Baltimore firefighter-EMT who suffered a medical emergency while on duty in September died Sunday, the department and the firefighters union announced on social media. Juan Wilson, 34, was an 11-year veteran of the Baltimore City Fire Department, Baltimore Firefighters IAFF Local 734 posted. Wilson was at an EMS call on the night of Sept. 19 when he suffered a medical emergency.
