Detective Sergeant Frank Gualdino

Yonkers Police Department, New York

Detective Sergeant Frank Gualdino was killed in a vehicle crash on Tuckahoe Road at 3:30 pm. He was driving westbound when an oncoming vehicle lost control and collided with his unmarked vehicle and a transit bus. Detective Gualdino was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The bus driver and passengers were treated for minor injuries. The 16-year-old unlicensed driver who caused the crash was transported to a hospital in critical condition. Detective Gualdino had served with the Yonkers Police Department for 24 years and was due to retire in August 2023. He is survived by his wife, daughter, and son. Detective Sergeant Gualdino was posthumously promoted.

Deputy Sheriff José Angel DeLeon

Warren County Sheriff's Office, North Carolina

EOW: Dec. 4, 2022 | Age: None | Tour: 2 years

Deputy Sheriff José DeLeon was killed in a vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 401, approximately one mile south of Warrenton, while responding to a domestic violence call involving a firearm at about 6:00 pm. His patrol car left the roadway, struck a tree, and caught fire. Other deputies responding to the same call came across the crash and attempted to pull him from the wreckage. He succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Deputy DeLeon had served with the Warren County Sheriff's Office for two years. He is survived by his son, parents, sister, two brothers, niece, grandmother, and girlfriend.
