On Monday, February 3, 2025, Firefighter/EMT-I Jacob Scott Kincaid had just completed a mandatory paramedic class clinical. While on his way home, he was involved in a single motor vehicle accident and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
On Wednesday, February 12, 2025, firefighters from the Binghamton Fire Department responded to the scene of a multi-alarm commercial structure fire. While fighting the fire, a wall collapsed. A short time later a mayday was declared and Firefighter John “JR” R. Gaudet was rescued from the debris. Two other firefighters were also injured at the scene. All three were immediately transported to the UHS Wilson Medical Center where Firefighter Gaudet was pronounced deceased. The two other firefighters were treated and released.
